From the outside looking in, who is Lil Pottna the artist?

From the outside looking in Lil Pottna is an artist that makes great music who was born and raised in New Orleans La Uptown/Downtown.  I’m a ghostwriter and songwriter that been doing music since 18 and have songs on over 30 platforms that have increasing numbers and streams. Music is my life and I love telling my stories to my fans thru lyrics.

What was the defining moment that brought you to music as a profession?

The defining moment that brought me to the music industry as a profession was this year actually…I have been making music since 18 but I never took the time to push my journey thru the media cause I have been focusing on grinding and studio time. This year I took time to learn everything and I’m doing great as an indie artist by putting music on platforms, interviews, and helpful promo teams and agencies.

What’s been the most satisfying part of your journey thus far?

The most satisfying part of my journey to reach the level I’m at now is when my song ” THUG IT OUT ” hit over 100,000 streams and still rising. Also, I’ve done a few news articles and have a great marketing team backing me up. So right now is my best moment with music.

How would you describe your style and sound?

My style and how I develop my unique sound are very metaphorical and explainable… I used great punch lines to describe my points I’m trying to get across. I develop my sound by listening to Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, Griselda, Lil Wayne, Soulja slim, Mac, and staying in the studio throughout my years of experience.

Tell us about your current project and what it means for you?

My current project I just dropped and what it means to me is a 10 track EP on all platforms called  “FROM DA DIRT” .This project means a lot because it talks about my struggles,  me being shot multiple times, and bettering myself as a human being. This project is my uplift above the moments that were tragic to my life.

Who’s on your bucket list to collaborate with?

My bucket list I’ll love to do collabs with is Neno Calvin, G Herbo, Fabulous, Jadakiss, 38 spesh, Benny the Butcher, Lil Wayne, Ann Marie and H.E.R.

Tell us about your imprint and your goals for the company!

My imprint and how I use it as a vehicle for my music is simple… All the pain, torture, stress, wanting to give up is a great reason for me to stay strong and push towards my journey because it’s easy to give up. So I tell myself I won’t stop until I get my trophy.

What’s been the most surprising part of the music business for you thus far?

The most surprising thing about the music business for me as I made my way thru the maze is the growth and learning experience as an indie artist… That’s important because it’s a lot of artist, producers, etc. that’s trying to make it and don’t have a clue where to start… So I’m thankful for doing research, networking with people, and marketing myself, and copyright my label Clips & Bandz Ent.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Overcoming jail, getting arrested previously. Getting put out of school. Getting shot up. Losing love ones and close friends.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

I believe finding success in your life starts with trusting and believing in yourself first… never give up, always strive towards the best, research whatever your craft is to gain knowledge, and ignore the comments that makes u lose focus.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

To me success means accomplishing goals u set. It can be very small steps in your life or big u set in your life and actually get it done. It means continuing even when it’s hard and you feel like giving up but you still make a way.

What’s next for you?

My next step is to continue making good music, making great stream numbers, doing more interviews, and bettering my brand.
